The Role :

High Peak is a small but growing organization with evolving needs and is seeking a dynamic Director of Product to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in product lifecycle management, defining and implementing product strategies, managing the product roadmap and backlog, and overseeing all stages of product creation. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, service teams, technology teams, and company leadership to identify business outcomes and develop solutions that align with our product strategy. Your goal will be to address complex business challenges, deploy innovative products, and deliver experiences that delight our customers.

In addition to deep product expertise and analytical experience, you will bring excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Your agile approach, strong business insight, inclusive leadership style, and commitment to continuous learning will be essential to your success in this role.

This position is primarily virtual with the option to visit our office in Newark, NJ as needed.

You Are :

A leader with early-stage startup experience in product management, technology, or a founder role. The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic planning skills and the ability to execute a product roadmap to drive swift market entry. In this role, you will assist our clients in defining their product vision, creating roadmaps, gathering requirements, and collaborating with engineering teams to launch products successfully. You have a proactive attitude, consistently finding ways to achieve goals, and view rapid change as an opportunity for growth.

You Will :

  • Create and maintain an ongoing product roadmap by working with business areas to identify, sequence, and prioritize enhancement requests.
  • Ensure alignment of product features and user stories with the product vision, providing feedback and prioritizing accordingly.
  • Define and implement product strategies consistent with the client company's vision.
  • Manage the product backlog, prioritizing tasks based on changing requirements.
  • Oversee all stages of product creation, including design and development, in collaboration with company leadership.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from end users, stakeholders, and other teams to shape requirements, features, and end products.
  • Work closely with technology and management to create product plans and roadmaps, ensuring alignment and timely execution.
  • Coordinate and lead UAT sessions for business stakeholders, ensuring engagement and buy-in on decisions and proposed solutions.
  • Lead sprint and release planning with the Scrum Master and technology teams.
  • Collaborate with the Tech Lead to build modular and reusable solutions.
  • Facilitate discussions and decisions around technology options, supporting product teams and managing the product backlog.
  • Develop metrics to assess the success of products and features, determining necessary enhancements.
  • Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule by working with technology and data teams.
  • Make creative recommendations to expand the product base and vision.
  • Continuously ask questions and challenge stakeholders to refine their roadmap into value drivers.
  • Adapt the product and teams quickly based on feedback, working closely with the leadership team on a weekly basis.

Required Qualifications :

  • At least 5 years of proven experience as a Director of Product, Product Owner, Technologist, Founder, or similar role.
  • Experience in product lifecycle management.
  • Strong strategic and creative thinking abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach.
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology.
  • Ability to lead independently with minimal guidance, leveraging diverse ideas and perspectives for organizational benefit.
  • Deep understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes for sound decision-making.
  • Continuous learner with the initiative to acquire new skills and tackle challenges.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and a passion for learning new skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with financial services, insurance, startups, or the public sector.
  • Experience at a consulting firm.
  • Experience working in a startup.
  • What we offer you :

    Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $152,500.00 to $206,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.

    Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
