Your Team & Role

As a Senior Quality Automation Engineer on GI Product Contracts team, you will partner with Business Partners, Product Owners, Tech Leads, Designers, Engineers, and Delivery Professionals to improve Group Insurance Contracts delivery. You will integrate tools and frameworks to run automated tests, design complex test infrastructure, and select tools for implementation. You will help create highly resilient applications as you implement capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services, and experiences to delight our customers! In addition to developing automation testing, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude, and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Follow best practices for testing approach and scenarios to automate functional and non-functional tests; remove complex technical impediments.
  • Leverage and extend testing frameworks as required, focuses on a wide variety of testing techniques writing reusable scripts/tools that the team and software engineers use for automation.
  • Validate requirements are delivered to assure overall quality, continually perform regression testing as necessary, and apply exploratory and risk-based testing which is critical as we support many Products, Product Versions, and States for Contracts delivery.
  • Bring a test-driven mentality to implement new and emerging technologies, begin to find opportunities to provide guidance to the team and coach others, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day. This can include AI and/or new testing solutions to support efficient delivery.
  • Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors to ensure customers are delivered the correct Contracts.
  • Use programming languages including but not limited to Python, Java, or JavaScript.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields.
  • Leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business.
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills especially within Scrum Teams.
  • Testing experience of Document Publishing Contracts and/or Certificates with several of the following:
  • Core Testing Tools: Unit, Interface, and End-User testing concepts and tooling inclusive of non-functional requirements (ADA, performance, usability, reliability, security/ vulnerability scanning etc.); Ensure code aligns with Test Driven Development (TDD) Cycle principles; write unit, integration tests, and basic functional automation
  • Programming Languages: Java, Python or JavaScript
  • Frameworks: Informatica, RAFT, Junit or Nosetest
  • DevOps Tools & Practices: DevOps automation tools, SDLC coding standards, code review, source control management
  • Security: Understanding of security impacts and how testing can ensure security; Includes how security is integrated into DevOps (DevSecOps)
  • API Consumption
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Financial/Insurance industry knowledge is a plus, not a must

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $92,400.00 to $137,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
