What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Supervisor position at Prudential Overall Supply?
We are seeking a dedicated Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our extensive fleet. The successful candidate will bring proven experience in fleet mechanics, coupled with strong leadership and management capabilities.
Occupational Certificates / Licenses:
- ASE certified in Diesel Repair for Medium and Heavy Duty
- ASE Certified in Brakes
- ASE Certified in HVAC
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required or
- VOT Tech Graduate
- Military Maintenance Experience is a plus
- Associates degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent working experience
Experience:
- Supervisory experience required
- 6 years working as a fleet mechanic
- 3-5 years shop management, overseeing technicians and the troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of heavy equipment and fleet vehicles
- Experience with a large fleet
- Experience in electrical, hydraulic and diesel engine preferred
- Excellent written and verbal English communication abilities: Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the fleet maintenance team to ensure efficient operations within the fleet maintenance shop.
- Oversee the quality in the shop, conduct himself/herself professionally in the shop, ensuring the all OSHA and POS standards of quality, cleanliness, ans safety are maintained.
- Provide supervision and technical guidance to technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Manage the maintenance schedule and ensure all vehicles meet the highest standards of safety and performance, consistent with POS, State and DOT standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, vehicle statuses, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize fleet efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and reduce downtime of fleet vehicles.
