As an established and growing MEP Engineering and Inspections company, we are looking for a part time mechanical engineering intern. Position is located in our Jersey City office with projects in five boroughs of New York City. Candidate must be studying or has graduated with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Compensation is hourly depending on candidate's performance. Internship is for up to 20 hours a week - Monday through Friday with possibility of more hours. Hours are flexible. Remote work is a possibility except for construction site visits. Following are the responsibilities of the intern.
Draft drawings using AutoCAD MEP for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing including backflow preventor and Sprinkler trades for buildings
Perform design calculations for heating, cooling, fresh air, exhaust air, hot water, domestic cold water, natural gas loads, electrical loads
Perform site surveys and site inspections
Assist project manager in whatever design, survey or inspection needs
Communicate with architects, owners, contractors, plumbers, electricians for various projects via both phone calls and emails
Perform other daily task in the office
Assist office manager on the technical side of things in interpreting project needs
