What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Aide position at PruittHealth?
JOB PURPOSE: Tends to clean laundry for patients by operating and maintaining washing, wringing, and drying equipment. Ensures cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the laundry area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Sorts, folds, and delivers patient laundry according to identification numbers or type.
2. Hangs clothes on racks according to name and number.
3. Maintains a clean and organized area; sweeps and mops laundry space as needed.
4. Reports any necessary repairs to the maintenance department.
5. Operates large filters according to schedule and ensures proper handling of soiled laundry items.
6. Cleans and disinfects linen carts as required per policy and procedure.
7. Empties washers and dryers as requested.
8. Understands and follows safety procedures for chemicals used in laundry processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Degree preferred.
MIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: On-the-job training provided.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in healthcare laundering processes preferred.
