Job Purpose :

PruittHealth Physician Services is actively seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Medical Director to spearhead clinical care and elevate the quality of patient-centered services in post-acute and long-term care settings. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader in geriatric care to make a significant impact on clinical operations, drive process improvements, and champion ongoing education for healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Medical Practice Leadership : Direct overall clinical care for residents in post-acute and long-term care.
  • Lead Facility Care Teams : Establish and uphold clinical standards that ensure exceptional patient care.
  • Care Process Leadership : Guide the adoption of clinical and administrative protocols.
  • Support Risk Management : Enhance safety outcomes throughout the facility.
  • Quality of Care : Design and oversee quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure Compliance : Monitor adherence to state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Education, Communication, and Leadership : Deliver ongoing education and communication to staff, patients, and community members.
  • Mentorship : Guide healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners and medical trainees.
  • Employee Health & Community Advocacy : Promote staff well-being through infection control measures.
  • Advocate for Residents : Uphold resident rights, support patient self-determination, and facilitate advance care planning.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Education : MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3 years in a clinical role within geriatric, adult, or family medicine; at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Licensure : Current state medical license, board certification in Geriatrics or a relevant field, active DEA licensure (Class II-V unrestricted), and CPR certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Board Certification in Geriatric Medicine and / or Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
  • Extensive experience in long-term care, hospice, or wound care.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus.
  • Key Skills :

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Expertise in geriatric and palliative care.
  • Ability to drive quality assurance initiatives (QAPI).
  • Proficient in complex patient care planning, including end-of-life considerations.
