Supply Chain Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Manager with a strong background in the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will oversee and optimize all supply chain functions including logistics, purchasing, inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, and contract review. This role is critical in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of materials and products throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain & Logistics Management
- Lead end-to-end supply chain operations to meet production and customer requirements.
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including freight, transportation planning, and 3PL relationships.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that improve delivery performance and reduce costs.
Purchasing & Procurement
- Manage the procurement process including sourcing, RFQs, supplier negotiations, and purchase order issuance.
- Identify and develop strategic suppliers with an emphasis on quality, reliability, and cost.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, ITAR, etc.).
Warehouse & Inventory Control
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring proper receiving, storage, picking, and shipping of materials.
- Implement inventory control best practices to minimize waste and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain ERP systems to ensure inventory levels are aligned with production schedules.
Material Management
- Develop material planning strategies to meet short and long-term production forecasts.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Manage MRP processes and align raw material flow with demand requirements.
Contract Review & Compliance
- Review supplier contracts for logistical, commercial, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure alignment with internal policies, export controls (e.g., EAR/ITAR), and customer agreements.
- Support audit processes and maintain documentation per aerospace industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in supply chain management within the aerospace or defense sector.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar).
- Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, and FAR/DFARS compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
- APICS/CPIM or CSCP certification
- Familiarity with logistics and import/export regulations
- Experience working with OEMs and Tier 1 aerospace suppliers
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Legally able to work in the US.
