Maintenance Specialist

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect equipment periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
  • Recruit, supervise and train maintenance technicians
  • Supervise and train technicians
  • Interview, hire and supervise tradesmen during repairs or maintenance work (electricians, mechanics, etc.)
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
  • Participate in coordination of projects
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
  • Be a facilitator of culture change
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with development of entire maintenance team
Requirements and skills:
  • Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role for at least 5 years, preferably 8-10 years
  • Technical associate's degree Preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of all types of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Understanding of budgeting and performance management
  • Proficient in developing best practices
  • Data driven
  • Analytical
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities
  • An eye for detail
  • Computer savvy with experience in Microsoft Office, CMMS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional Certifications (e.g. CMRP) are preferred
