What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Scheduler position at Prysmian?
Reporting to the Downhole Technology (DHT) Logistics Manager, the Master Planner is responsible for creating, leading, and managing an executable master production schedule that meets the needs of our customers while supervising daily planning activities across multiple value streams to optimize output and reduce changeovers and waste.
The Master Planner has a supervisory responsibility for two Finite Schedulers.

- Creating and managing an executable master schedule that meets the needs of our customers while also meeting the KPI’s of our business plan.
- Manage the Planning Team’s creation and coordination of a safe, customer oriented and lean finite schedule.
- Control and optimize the use of raw material, subcomponents and finish good inventory.
- Maintain the logistic parameters within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Participate in lean strategies to improve operations, quality, cost, inventory control and safety.
- Provide responsive customer service to all customers, both internal and external. Interact frequently with corporate sales team and operations.
- Provide an environment for lean sigma culture, techniques, and principles to flourish within the planning team.
- Work with the DHT Materials Manager to establish goals and objectives for the department.
Required Qualifications
- A self-driven individual who has demonstrated ability planning production in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to motivate, communicate and manage personnel.
- Effective analytical and critical thinking abilities that guide appropriate decision making.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with corporate support teams i.e, Distribution, Operations, Inside Sales, Finance, IT, etc.
- High energy individual who demonstrates drive
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Purchasing or Planning.
- Supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, manufacturing or business administration preferred.
- Lean Enterprise and/or Six Sigma exposure and certification preferred.
- Strong MS Office (Excel, Office, etc.) is essential.
- Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Works out of a normal office/manufacturing environment with standard office equipment available.
- Will be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, use keyboard, read, write, and speak fluently.
- Employee will regularly be required to lift and carry objects of 10-25 pounds as needed.
- Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 25-30 pounds as need.
