We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to oversee, design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure across multiple food manufacturing sites. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring seamless connectivity, high network availability, and robust cybersecurity in a dynamic and regulated environment.
What You'll Do :
- Network Design & Implementation :
Develop, deploy, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure network architectures tailored to manufacturing operations.
Configure and optimize network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and SD-WAN technologies.Support integration of IT and OT (Operational Technology) networks, ensuring proper segmentation and security.Maintenance & Monitoring :Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues to minimize downtime.
Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches for network devices.Ensure robust disaster recovery plans and backups for all network configurations.Multi-Site Connectivity :Manage WAN and LAN connections across multiple locations, ensuring efficient interconnectivity and minimal latency.
Optimize VPNs or dedicated connections for secure data transmission between sites.Coordinate with ISPs and vendors to resolve connectivity issues promptly.Cybersecurity :Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
Collaborate with the IT security team to identify vulnerabilities and address threats effectively.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA, GMP, or HACCP where applicable.Support & Troubleshooting :Provide Tier 2 / 3 support for network-related issues and escalations.
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, minimizing impact on production and operations.Document solutions, network configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing.Collaboration & Continuous Improvement :Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, OT, and production, to ensure network solutions meet business needs.
Propose and execute continuous improvements to enhance network reliability and performance.Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and best practices.What We're Looking For :
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).3 years of experience as a network engineer, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP / IP, VLANs, QoS, and routing protocols.Experience with Ubiquiti or similar networking equipment.Proficiency in network security principles and tools.Hands-on experience with IT / OT convergence and industrial protocols like Ethernet / IP is a plus.Familiarity with SD-WAN, cloud networking, and wireless network deployments.Ability to travel to various sites as required.Preferred Certifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.CompTIA Network or Security .Work Environment
Primarily office-based in Iron Ridge, WI with visits to manufacturing floors to ensure network performance and troubleshoot as needed.Must be comfortable working in food production facilities and adhering to health and safety protocols.Must be able to lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials weighing up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, and reaching to install, maintain, or repair network equipment in various environments, including manufacturing floors.Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking during site visits and while troubleshooting network issues.Comfortable working in environments that may include temperature variations, noise, and other conditions typical of food manufacturing facilities.Benefits of Working at PS Seasoning :
