Sales Representative - North East Territory

The Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and generating revenue by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients, and achieving sales targets. This role involves understanding customer needs, presenting products or services, and closing sales while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

 This position will be required to be onsite when not traveling, based out of our Iron Ridge, WI facility. 

Territory for this position is North East with required travel there up to 60% of the time. 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead Generation: Identify and prospect potential clients through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and referrals. Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients. Understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Sales Presentation: Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and meetings with clients to showcase the benefits and features of products or services. Address any questions or concerns and effectively communicate the value proposition.
  • Sales Process Management: Manage the sales process from initial contact through to closing. Prepare and present proposals, negotiate terms, and finalize sales agreements.
  • Target Achievement: Meet or exceed individual sales targets and quotas set by the company. Track and report on sales performance, including progress towards goals and key metrics.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Use this knowledge to identify new opportunities and adjust sales strategies as needed.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process and after the sale. Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status. Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, customer service, and product development, to align sales efforts with overall company objectives and enhance the customer experience.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training programs and stay current with product knowledge and sales techniques. Continuously improve skills and knowledge to enhance sales performance.

 Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, but not always required.
  • Minimum of [1-3] years of experience in sales or a related field. Previous experience in the meat industry or dry ingredients is a plus.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively present and sell products or services. Proficiency in using sales software and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and meet customer needs. High level of customer service orientation.
  • Highly motivated with a strong drive to achieve sales targets and exceed performance expectations. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in an office environment and travel as needed to meet with clients or attend sales events.
  • Primarily an office environment with potential for travel based on client meetings, industry events, or other sales-related activities.
  • This role requires up to 60% travel, including local, regional, and overnight trips to meet with clients and attend industry events.
