What are the responsibilities and job description for the RIGGING TOP LANDER position at PS?
The project scope across a 9 mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45’ diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America. The project is expected to continue to the end of 2025.
Responsibilities:
- The Top Lander is the main rigger at the surface. They are in charge of training the rigging crew at the surface and providing all the rigging equipment.
- All Rigging duties as needed.

- Job requires climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, frequent lifting of extensions chutes, stretching, sitting/driving, shifting gears, and covering/uncovering load when applicable.
- Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
- May require sitting for extended periods of time.
- Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to focus.
- Able to climb in and out of truck 3-4 steps (elevated 4 feet into cab). (Could be in and out of truck 20-30 times per day).
- Must be able to exert 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects, 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally.

Working conditions are normal for a separation plant environment. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, gloves, work boots, and hardhats.
