Job Summary:
Provides analysis, definition and recommendations to support Ocean Export, Air Export and Import Services improvements, efficiencies and business development. Provides analysis for projects, ad hoc studies, pricing and costing decisions, productivity assessment, process improvement, transition management and corporation training.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate all levels of carrier transportation services and activities.
- Maintain the overall carrier strategy for BDP International that is in alignment with overall corporate goals and service commitments for LTL, TL, Intermodal and other modes.
- Manage a network of carrier EDI/Eform tracking and invoicing to meet the needs of BDP International.
- Research and resolve pricing discrepancies.
- Help source and select carriers based on specific requirements and needs.
- Confirm rate base and mileage within carrier planning.
- Track, trace and invoice daily shipments.
- Data acquisition, analysis, and entry into web based interface.
- Initiate the review and analysis of service failures.
Assist in the coordination of carrier inquiries from all BDP locations
Job Requirements
- The ideal candidate must have at least three (3) to four (4) years of operational experience.
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics is needed
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Good communication and organization skills and a strong attention to detail are required.
- The ability to work on a team and leadership experience is strongly desired.
- Candidate should have the ability to learn various computer programs.
