Dedicated Supervisor Locomotive Engineer (DSLE)
Kingsport, TN

PSC Group is now hiring a DSLE for our rail switching operations. Come out to the rail yard and lead PSC's team of responsible, hardworking, dedicated switchman who keep railcars moving safely in and out of the chemical plant.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- The position will closely follow guidelines from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
- Observe train crews and enforce the PSC operating rule book
- Ensure compliance with all PSC policies and regulations for safety and operations
- Evaluate and report on the effective training of a locomotive engineer, conductors, or brakeman
- Perform periodic efficiency and rules test of locomotive engineers, conductors, or brakemen
- Perform training for new qualifications and renewal qualifications of locomotive operators
- Provide coaching and leadership to switching personnel
- Provide coverage for yardmaster and switching personnel vacancies periodically
- Perform safety observations
- Perform all duties of a switchman
- Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 years rail switching industry experience
- Experience and work history with FRA regulated switching activities
- Prior or current DSLE experience
- Previous or current Locomotive engineer qualification
- Previous or current leadership experience (supervisor and/or leadership position)
Job Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Knows and understands the requirements of Code of Federal Regulations Part 240
- Must be able to successfully pass test(s) and perform the duties of the Dedicated Supervisor of Locomotive Engineer.
- Can appropriately test and evaluate the knowledge and skills of locomotive engineers
- 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Stable work history with good references from past employers
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
- PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
