Work Schedule : Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to work overtime, and weekends if needed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
The overall expectation for this position is to lead our railcar repair group by ensuring safe, efficient and productive operations in accordance with AAR, FRA and company guidelines.
- Reviews AAR Circular Letters, Maintenance Advisories and Early Warning Letters, if applicable have systems to communicate with all affected employees
- Facilitates customer, AAR and FRA compliance audits
- Inspects and repairs tank car and hopper car
- Provides information and advice to senior management on matters relating to safe and quality repair operations
- Applies for facility registrations, if needed
- Participates in plant supervisor meetings and overall training initiatives
- Collaborates with field employees and customers to identify and implement improvements / efficiencies
- Seeks new business opportunities and works to expand these operations, as appropriate
- Identifies future leaders and creates individual employee development plans
- Performs annual performance evaluations with field employees
- Leads, monitors and trains on railcar repairs
- Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job
