Production Manager – Evansville
Job Summary (Purpose of Job):
- Lead all plant personnel by providing leadership, guidance and follow-through in support of customers’ demands and requirements. The focus of the job is to maximize service to customers via improving production efficiencies, as well as safety and quality performance of the facility with the available resources.
- Drive daily production and track operational and asset efficiency rates. Instill a facility-wide commitment to 100% on-time delivery of all products.
- Train and orientate new employees. Cross-train for production contingency.
- Implement, follow and continuously improve corporate and facility QMS. Consistently reduce annual PPM rate.
- Follow company policy and procedures (safety, quality, productivity, discipline, order, and continuous improvement).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ensure inventory is maintained with a focus on 8 turns annually. Ensure all BOM is up-to-date and accurate per the costing process, specifying new material requirements
- Strong adherence to 5-S principles.
- Coach and train facility personnel in all disciplines of the business. Maintain open and consistent communications with Corporate Human Resources, Accounting, Engineering, Sales, and Operations along with other company Plant managers and General Managers.
- Strong experience in managing a diverse workforce in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success in establishing a lean material flow throughout the facility and in coordination with sister facilities.
- Experience and knowledge of the Automotive Market, Associates Degree or equivalent education.
- Must have 5 years of supervisory level experience within a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in leadership utilizing Lean Application methodologies.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with external/internal customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel a plus.
- Understanding of the OEM market drivers and pressures.
- Some Extended Hours & Weekends as necessary.
- Must submit to a drug screening and background check.
