We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented sterile and nonsterile compounding Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will prepare customized medication formulations for individual patients, working under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure safe and accurate medication preparation, often specializing in sterile or hazardous drug compounding.
Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation:
- Compounding: Mixing and preparing medications from raw ingredients to create customized formulations tailored to specific patient needs.
- Sterile Compounding: Preparing medications in a sterile environment, often for intravenous use, requiring specialized knowledge and skills.
- Hazardous Drug Compounding: Handling and preparing medications that pose a risk to healthcare workers, requiring strict safety protocols.
- Quality Control:
- Testing and Analysis: Performing analytical tests to ensure the purity, potency, and quality of compounded medications.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of compounding procedures, ingredients, and quality control results.
- Inventory Management:
- Stocking and Ordering: Maintaining adequate supplies of compounding ingredients and equipment.
- Record Keeping: Tracking inventory levels and ensuring proper storage of medications.
- Patient Care:
- Communication: Communicating with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication preparation and patient safety.
- Labeling and Packaging: Preparing and labeling medications for patient use.
- Other Duties:
- Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining compounding equipment and facilities.
