The Human Resources Assistant is a dynamic and cross-functional position that provides transactional support to the Total Rewards program; and involves a variety of responsibilities including administration of benefits and leave programs, basic HRIS, payroll and compensation support. Administration of employee record changes, enrollments, billing and monthly reconcilement, employee communications, reports, employee events, on-boarding and off-boarding support, and various transactional duties.
This position requires demonstration of strong oral and written communication, customer service, research, organizational skills, diligence, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Works under direct supervision, follows guidance from team leaders, and addresses basic issues and problems. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and provide onsite in-office coverage four days a week.
Schedule : Monday - Friday 8 : 00am - 4 : 00pm with onsite expectations of 4 days per week.
In this position, you will
- Serve as a first point of contact for employees seeking information from the human resources department regarding general employment, benefits, retirement, compensation, and HR policy and practices.
- Assist with administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Address benefits-related inquiries, coordinate open enrollment, and communicate benefits information. Conduct orientation meetings, advise on eligibility, costs, and coverage, and act as a liaison with third-party benefits providers.
- Support the Benefits and Leave Manager in completing routine leave program administration for the Leave of Absence (LOA) process and works with the FMLA, LOA, ADA, and Workers Comp compliance team and vendors to ensure regulations, policies and procedures are followed and required notifications are processed according to state and fed regulations.
- Handle employee Help Requests, create forms, and conduct HRIS testing. Support analytics report creation for HR leadership, manage exit survey reporting, create onboarding packages, and prepare presentations, agendas, and meeting minutes. Collaborate with Benefits and Leave administrators to ensure compliance with the Health Care Reform Act and PPACA, process benefit enrollments, billing, and reconcilement, and assist with benefit surveys and audit requests
- Assist with event planning and support for departmental and employee events, including budget management for committees. Coordinate employee engagement and communications, including monthly HR notices and Hub communications. Participate in various company committees.
- Performs general office clerical duties such as processing incoming mail, scanning, deliveries, supply orders, restocking of common spaces, employee recognition and support, and creating Hub posts and other employee communications.
