What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Processor position at PSFCU?

Core Responsibilities:
- Comply with the registration requirements of the National Mortgage Licensing System, acquire and maintain NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator Registration
- Review assigned residential loan application, when received from the originating branch, to verify application data. Enter/update data into LOS.
- Complete and submit income, deposit and loan verifications when necessary, follow-up to ensure prompt return of same. Upon return of said documents, update LOS if necessary.
- Review tri-merged credit report for any perceived irregularities and/or reported information if deemed necessary advise the member and request explanation.
- Obtain flood plain determination, letters/reports, appraisals, certification forms and other appropriate documents. Review documents received and inform underwriter of any information which would have a bearing on approval and/or timely closing of the loan.
- Ensure that all HMDA information is correctly entered into the LOS.
- Upon entering data into LOS, submit file to underwriter.
- Once file is returned to processor, proceed as instructed by the underwriter.
- Prepare and send commitment or denial letter to applicant(s).
- Prepare and send commitment package to PSFCU attorney
- Submit file to closing coordinator/specialist for preparation of closing.
- Communicate with private mortgage insurance companies, if applicable
- Ensure prompt and courteous response to customer inquiries.
- Keep abreast with all PSFCU lending Policies and Procedures
- Improve work performance through self-education
- Any other duties or responsibilities, as required or assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
- One to three years of experience in a financial institution.
- Basic knowledge of computer software programs.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts accurately and effectively.
- English/Polish bilingual required
