Overview
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of computer networking, schematics, and mechanical knowledge, enabling them to effectively support our clients' communication needs. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work with various tools and technologies.
Duties include:
- Install and configure telecommunications equipment according to specifications and schematics.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on telecommunication systems, including IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems) and surveillance equipment.
- Utilize power tools safely and efficiently to complete installation tasks.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure optimal performance of telecommunications networks.
- Detect issues within the network infrastructure and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and service requests.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in telecommunications technology.
Requirements include:
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Attention to detail.
- Bending, Stooping, Twisting.
- Working in fast-paced environment.
- Work well with others.
Required experience:
- Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of computer networking principles and practices.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams.
- Mechanical knowledge related to telecommunications systems is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed for project completion.
