Are you an experienced Data Engineer with a passion for designing scalable and secure data solutions on Azure? We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team! This contract-to-hire role offers the opportunity to convert to a permanent position after the contract period. The role requires candidates to be onsite 2 days per week in Columbus, OH
- Note : Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship , both now and in the future.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data solutions on Azure.
- Build and maintain a data architecture that supports both real-time and batch processing
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven initiatives
- Apply strong cloud security principles using Azure’s features, including Active Directory network security groups , and encryption services
- Required Skills
- 7 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Expertise in Azure Data Services , including :
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Databricks
- Strong grasp of cloud security principles and hands-on experience with Azure security features.
- Proficiency with project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Commitment to 40 hours of professional training annually (10 hours specific to the role).
- Desired Skills
- Python proficiency for data engineering tasks.
- ITIL certification ( v3 or v4
- Utility industry experience (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with business case justification methodologies
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster a team-oriented environment

- This is a hybrid role , requiring candidates to work onsite 2 days per week in Columbus, OH
