Business Systems Analyst

Our client, a leading organization in the transportation and shipping industry, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join their team on a 3 month contract-to-hire basis. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise IT projects, supporting a wide range of business applications, desktop systems, network infrastructure, and communication technologies.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing enterprise office network environments, including hardware, software, Microsoft operating systems, and business-critical applications. This role reports directly to the Assistant Director of Development. The pay is between $63.00 - $83.00 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Apply knowledge of business analysis methodologies, relational database design, and application security to support enterprise systems.
• Work closely with product teams and stakeholders to gather business needs, plan, document, and implement database and application solutions.
• Convert business requirements into well-defined database and system designs using analytical techniques.
• Create detailed technical documentation to support development and programming efforts. Assist in managing priorities, deadlines, and task tracking.
• Analyze data models and design effective databases, leveraging strong SQL skills.
• Plan, manage, and evaluate tasks throughout project life cycles, from design to deployment.
• Continuously enhance procedures, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Set and pursue professional growth objectives while staying informed about emerging technologies.
• Maintain accurate technical designs and documentation for development tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
• 3-5 years in a similar role within an IT department, with demonstrated experience in systems and business analysis, development, and application support.
• Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency in analyzing, designing, and developing business applications.
• Strong SQL and relational database design skills.
• Solid understanding of relational data modeling.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, including the ability to translate user needs into functional and technical solutions.
• Strong ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and graphic tools.
• Commitment to learning and applying new technologies to improve business processes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to support both internal and external users.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
• Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
• Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
