Quantum computing holds the promise of humanity’s mastery over the natural world, but only if we can build a real quantum computer. We know that means we will need to build a system with roughly 1 million qubits that supports fault tolerant error correction within a scalable architecture, and a data center footprint.

PsiQuantum has determined the fastest path to delivering a useful quantum computer, years earlier than the rest of the industry. Our architecture is based on silicon photonics which gives us the ability to produce our components at Tier-1 semiconductor fabs such as GlobalFoundries where we leverage high-volume semiconductor manufacturing processes, the same processes that are already producing billions of chips for telecom and consumer electronics applications. We also benefit from the quantum mechanics reality that photons don’t feel heat or electromagnetic interference, allowing us to take advantage of existing cryogenic cooling systems and industry standard fiber connectivity.

In 2024, PsiQuantum announced two government-funded projects to support the build-out of our first Quantum Data Centers and utility-scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia and Chicago, Illinois. Both projects are backed by nations that understand quantum computing’s potential impact and the need to scale this technology to unlock that potential. And we won’t just be building the hardware, but also the fault tolerant quantum applications that will provide industry-transforming results.

Job Summary:

As part of PsiQuantum finance and accounting team, the FP&A Director will collaborate with the CFO and and VP Finance to lead financial planning and forecasting. This person will serve as a key interface between Finance, the executive management team, the various departmental managers, and work cross functionally to hone the forecast, metrics, and analytics, and play a pivotal role in planning for the short, mid and long-term financial directions of the Company.

This position will play an important role in driving process improvement and scaling our infrastructure globally. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and welcomes the opportunity to make a difference in building accurate and timely processes across a global organization.

The position requires strong financial reporting, planning, and modeling skills, a working knowledge of Adaptive Planning, and good business acumen in the fields of compute, systems and semiconductors. It also requires the ability to understand the big picture of the Company's financial model, while being very detail oriented with the analysis of Revenues, Operating Expenses, CapEx and Cash Flows.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the corporate FP&A function and manage a small team.
• Fully own the annual financial operating plans (regular updates and adjustments to the detailed financial model.)
• Calculate, track, and monitor GAAP and Non-GAAP financial metrics.
• Build reporting processes and drive ad hoc analysis, modeling, and data requests to provide greater insight to stakeholders.
• Compile and refine the company's financial results for relevant audiences (e.g. company updates, quarterly results, investor updates, board updates & materials, etc.)
• Collaborate with company managers to integrate cross-functional financials into the budgeting and forecasting processes and long-term model.
• Collaborate with Corporate Controller to standardize the monthly/quarterly business review cadence and reporting package with each function.
• Complete monthly/quarterly budget vs. actual variance analysis and drive accountability.
• Assist with the ongoing monthly, quarterly and yearly planning process.
• Assess and support the company’s investment policies and investment activities.

Experience/Qualifications:

• 10 years of financial experience, some of which were in mid to senior manager level positions responsible for financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Experienced in developing and presenting business plans, models, and financial forecasts to Management.
• Skilled at synthesizing volumes of data into key trends, observations, and actions either written or orally.
• Experience in high growth/global environments and enterprise high tech organization.
• Knowledge of key financial management processes as required in a scaling organization.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work on cross-functional teams and communicate and influence at a senior management level.
• Must thrive in a rapid-paced and dynamic business environment.
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and, as needed, own building of complex models.
• Track record of driving business insights, actions, and accountability across organizations.
• MBA and/or CPA is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Adaptive Planning and advanced excel functions.

The range below reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary across all US locations. Actual compensation may vary outside of this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
