PSL Services/STRIVE is seeking a motivated, organized individual for a DSP Career Planner! This is a full-time position Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm, 24 hours DSP and 16 hours Career Planner. The Career Planner works 1-on-1 with a participant to explore their employment interest, abilities and learn about businesses. The Career Planner will develop the Career Plan that is then used to develop employment that matches the participant's skills, interests and abilities. Flexibility is a key requirement, as the successful candidate will be working dynamically between roles as a DSP and Career planner with the people that we serve.
As a DSP, the successful candidate would be working dynamically in the Community Supports Program of STRIVE, which is designed for adults with intellectual disabilities and offers a wide range of community based services specifically designed and individualized to meet the needs of participants. Utilizing a 3 to 1 participant to staff ratio, staff take groups out into the community to work on the encompassing goal of independence. Activities include grocery shopping, healthy meal planning and cooking, safely navigating the community, physical activity, volunteering to strengthen community connections, and more.
No direct support experience required - we will train the successful applicant!
Requirements and Responsibilities:

- Develop connections with local businesses
- Strong communication skills, including networking and writing skills are key
- Career Planning training will be provided
- High school diploma or equivalent
