JOB SUMMARY

The primary focus of the Project Manager, Shaft Line will be to provide technical and commercial support to various functional groups within PSM and Hanwha towards non-gas turbine equipment, with emphasis on HRSG, Steam Turbine, and/or Generator subject matter. Functions will include development and execution of bundled plant solutions (inclusive of gas and steam-turbine, HRSG, generator, and BOP) to its global customer base. The individual will play a key role in vendor management, proposal/tendering efforts, project management, technical advocacy, and internal business development. As a Project Manager, there will also be opportunities to support additional business functions, particularly the area of global strategy and project execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Represent PSM and Hanwha in business activities involving commercial operations, tendering, project management and field service.
  • Coordinate projects involving PSM’s functional groups and Hanwha Region/Product Lines as necessary to ensure schedule, milestones and deliverables are met
  • Create specifications, schedules, procedures, requirements and documentation for various programs/projects, outage execution, and projects according to PSM policies and procedures
  • Evaluate new technologies and applicability in the marketplace and incorporate into the overall PSM strategy
  • Identify strategies and opportunities for continuous improvement and make productive and cost-effective and timely suggestions/solutions for change
  • Comply with market requirements and relevant project specifications
  • Conform to all standard company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide leadership for PSM and customer site specific safety policies and objectives
  • Development and writing of processes and procedures as required
  • Responsible to provide technical guidance related to tenders for transactional and LTA opportunities
  • Coordination and management of various site resources including but not limited to site engineers, technicians, contract labor and 3rd party vendors
  • Responsible for project costing, budget adherence, and invoicing when applicable on steam turbine related projects
  • Coordinate with PSM and Hanwha for all applicable Shaft Line related mechanical or operational issues to resolve in timely manner meeting customer needs and expectations
  • As needed, provide onsite management and leadership for outage execution of Shaft Line projects.
  • Manage implementation and tracking of SB/TILS/CILS for LTA’s
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix

Skills/Experience
  • 5 years of technical project management experience
  • 10 years of experience in power plant applications, maintenance, operation, field engineering, repair or service environment
  • Expert knowledge of HRSG, steam turbine, generator, and/or BOP systems design, maintenance and operation, particularly combine-cycle and cogeneration applications.
  • General knowledge and understanding of field service operations
  • Relevant technical product and service knowledge of steam turbines in a typical F-class combined-cycle power plant
  • Understanding of cost calculations, tendering, contracts and budgeting
  • Coordinate and monitor numerous tasks at one time including the ability to set priorities and act in a goal-oriented manner
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibit outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Be team-oriented, able to align personal and department activities to support the objectives of the business
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project; SAP
  • Willing to travel as required on an as-needed basis (typical travel is expected at approximately 20%)
  • Candidate must be high energy self-starter who has a proven track record of meeting company goals and objectives
