About being our CAD Designer
In this hybrid role, our experienced CAD Designer will be working both independently and with a team. Our ideal candidate will bring their collaboration and communication skills, along with their high-quality drafting practices and civil design expertise, to efficiently assist with project work and support the team.
Responsibility Highlights for our CAD Designer
- Work under minimal supervision providing support to a project team
- Help with the development of projects and transform initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents
- Support preparation of base design drawings, plans, exhibits, and details using CAD
- Assist with projects regarding water, wastewater, highway design, traffic infrastructure, and road/storm drainage
- Assist in utility investigation and coordination
- Be responsible for organizing and executing the preparation of base drawings, plans, and exhibits using CAD
- Performs thorough quality control (QA/QC) of models and sheet files for standards compliance
- Maintain structure and organization of project files and standards
- Create, maintain, and edit traffic flow, traffic infrastructure, highway design, and road/storm drainage projects from concept through final construction drawings
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
- Support other team members as needed
Minimum Qualifications to be our CAD Designer
- Associate Degree or Technical College or Vocational Training in CAD
- 5 years' experience of AutoCAD and Civil 3D relevant to civil engineering
- A comprehensive understanding of the design process in the civil engineering transportation and public works industry
