About being our Civil Engineer Designer - Site/Land Development
As a Civil Engineer Designer (CED), supporting our Site/Land Development Engineering Team in our Tucson, AZ office at Psomas, you will utilize your experience to contribute work performed on broad range of Site/Land Development and Public Works projects in residential, municipal and commercial sites, while working in a team-oriented setting and interacting with clients and team consultants. The Tucson Engineering team is a dynamic group of seasoned professionals. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on technology-driven high-profile projects that prioritize sustainability.
Responsibility Highlights for our Civil Engineer Designer - Site/Land Development
- Work under minimal supervision, providing support to a project team
- Help with the development of projects and transform initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents
- Be responsible for organizing and executing the preparation of base drawings, plans, and exhibits using CAD
- Perform thorough quality control (QA/QC) of models and sheet files for standards compliance
- Assist in utility investigation and coordination
- Maintain structure and organization of project files and standards
- Create, maintain, and edit residential, municipal, or commercial site projects from concept through final construction drawings
- Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software for design
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
- Perform field verifications and participate in site visits and meetings
Minimum Qualifications to be our Civil Engineer Designer - Site/Land Development
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in civil engineering and design in site development engineering projects
- EIT Certification
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and proficiency in MS Office Suite and Bluebeam
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt with changing priorities
- Self-motivated to work on individual tasks and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications for our Civil Engineer Designer - Site/Land Development
- PE (or obtained within 2 years of hire)
- ENV SP (or can obtain within 2 years of hire)
