About being our Electrical Construction Inspector
As our Electrical Construction Inspector, you will join the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) project team of 40 planners, architects, engineers, and other technical professionals to plan & design their next wave of capital investments, including airfield improvements, terminal improvements, infrastructure improvements, and more.
Responsibility Highlights for our Electrical Construction Inspector
- Conduct inspections in Public works right of ways, buildings, tenant improvement renovations & civil electrical work
- Possess knowledge in low voltage IT systems including interpretation of code requirements
- May be assigned to a program where the inspector prepares monthly progress payment request, tracks various changes, verifies time and material work, measure, and documents job quantities.
- Inspection of electrical rough and finishes not limited to, underground utilities, high voltage gear & electrical panels, 400 HZ conduit racks, conductors, grounding systems, breakers, interior & exterior lighting, fire life & safety systems, smoke & heat sensors, FM-200 installations, lock out tag out requirements, electrical panel shutdowns, IT door card readers and components, security cameras, communication P.A. systems, etc.
- Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have a thorough knowledge of the methods, materials and techniques of the electrical/IT trade
- Diagnose violations and hazards in new and existing electrical/IT installations and take a proactive approach during construction
- Read and interpret contract documents, electrical codes, applicable standards. Electrical/IT
Minimum Qualifications to be our Electrical Construction Inspector
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector
- Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have at 3 years or more of experience performing electrical/IT inspections; For task on the Airfield, 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.
- Proof of NFPE-70E standards (Completion of training must have been achieved within the last 3 years)
- 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. (The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years)
- 3 years of experience performing electrical/IT inspections
- 3 years or more of experience performing electrical/IT inspections for Building Construction
- General understanding of low voltage systems including fire/life safety and information technology;
- Basic computer skills and knowledge with Word, excel spreadsheets and the ability to utilize email and functions

- A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $46.00 - $50.88/hour depending on experience.
- This position has a modified schedule including nights & weekends. The anticipated work schedule is 10:30PM to 7:00AM Sunday night - Friday Morning.
