Introduction: The Board of Trustees of the Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips Consolidation Independent School District is conducting a comprehensive search for an energetic, innovative, and student-driven educational leader to fill the role of Superintendent.
PSP CISD is dedicated to providing a quality education for every student in our district. We believe every class and program should foster excellent knowledge and skills combined with strong work ethic, exceptional character, healthy attitudes, and meaningful teamwork. By developing these qualities, our students will earn success while in school and will be prepared for success upon graduation.
PSP CISD is a district of approximately 550 students and is a District of Innovation. PSP CISD is committed to being a great place to learn, a great place to teach, and a great place to engage in problem-solving and growth with an emphasis on vocational and academic college credit. Our extracurricular programs are an important part of the equation at PSP CISD and we take pride in our Agriculture, Athletic, Fine Arts, and Vocational programs.
PSP CISD is searching for a superintendent with the following qualifications:
1. A valid Texas Superintendent Certification
2. At least five years’ classroom teaching experience and principal and/or central office experience preferred.
3. A strong knowledge of budgeting and public school finance. Experience in a rural, small, or mid-size district is preferred.
4. A belief in high standards and holding everyone equally accountable in reaching those goals.
5. Demonstrate strong skills in educational leadership in respect to uniting staff, parents and
community in the pursuit of student achievement and a positive district culture.
6. Experience in overseeing maintenance/operations of facilities and a demonstrated good steward of taxpayer dollars.
7. A strong background in student performance success, educational technology and vocational
programs. Experience in maintaining strong UIL academic, fine arts, vocational, and athletic success is also preferred.
8. Experience working with all students, including economically disadvantaged students.
9. Integrity and exemplary moral character along with excellent people skills who leads by example.
10. Visible throughout the community, district, and on campuses.
11. An effective public speaker and motivator.
12. Shown maturity, stability and the willingness to stay in the district.
13. A strong desire to be a part of the community and the willingness to be present at extra-curricular
and community events. Willingness to reside within the district is preferred and encouraged.
14. The desire and ability to work with others and willingness to develop leaders, and promote the best staff possible, regardless of whether they are local or from outside the community.
15. A person with an open mind, who will take the time to see what works before making significant changes.
16. Open communication with the Board, the administration, faculty, staff, and community.
17. Experience in working with legislators and familiar with legislative processes.
18. High expectations for PSP CISD students, faculty, and staff, and the desire to make our school district even better.
