Kforce has a client that is seeking a mid to senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA). This is a Remote (US-based) contract role.

Job Overview

We are seeking a mid to senior-level SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize SQL Server environments. This role involves database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery, security, and database migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments
• Use Redgate and LogicMonitor for monitoring database performance and health
• Oversee SQL Server high availability, backup/recovery (via Cohesity), security, and database migrations
• Perform performance tuning and optimization, including Materialized Views, Data Compression, In-Memory OLTP, and Advanced Indexing
• Develop basic PowerShell scripts for automation and monitoring tasks
• Collaborate with system administrators who manage Linux and Windows OS (all SQL servers run on Windows)
• Support future improvements and adoption of advanced database features
  
  

Required Skills : * 5-7 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA (mid to senior level) * Experience working in a Windows-based SQL Server environment * Ideal candidate will have experience with SQL Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 * Familiarity with Redgate tools and database monitoring solutions like LogicMonitor * Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration and optimization * Strong knowledge of SQL Server Clustering and high availability * Basic PowerShell scripting for automation * Exposure to cloud environments (Azure preferred but not required) Nice-to-Have: * Experience with advanced SQL Server features (Materialized Views, Data Compression, In-Memory OLTP, Advanced Indexing) * Additional experience with Redgate tools for database automation and monitoring
