We have a need for an experienced coding auditor to join our team in Charleston, SC. Duties will be performed in person as well as thru video communication.
Job description
The Coding Quality Auditor will be responsible for performing coding audits on outpatient encounters to validate code assignment and ensure compliance with ICD-10, CPT and CMS guidelines. This position requires the auditor to be highly proficient in proper code assignments and the ability to effectively communicate guidelines and documentation guidelines with clinicians.
Key responsibilities
· Learn and be prepared to train providers on Value Based Billing
· Performing retrospective and prospective coding audits
· Prepare audit findings and provide education to providers
· Create education guidelines for providers and staff such as nurses, and lab techs
· Conducting new provider education on E/M leveling, Medicare visits
· Attend quality meetings with payers to obtain requirements on HEDIS measures and incentives. Work cohesively with clinical informatics manager to create plans to help providers meet the measures.
· Researching guidelines for services by various providers to include documentation requirements, CPT coding, ICD 10 coding as well as insurance billing guidelines
· Research and implement new revenue source programs.
· Coding support for billing specialists

Requirements:
- Medical Coding: minimum of 3 years
- Must hold one or more of the following:(CPC, COC, CRC, CPMA)
Preferred
- Medical Auditing: minimum of 1 year
- FQHC billing guidelines
- eClinicalWorks software knowledge
