About The Role
The Medical Coordinator at PsychPlus is responsible for managing daily hospital operations, ensuring seamless patient care coordination, and optimizing administrative processes. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to support hospital staff, enhance efficiency, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare administration, patient scheduling, and hospital workflow management, with a passion for supporting a high-functioning behavioral health environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate medical operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow across departments.
- Serve as the primary liaison between healthcare staff, medical administration, and patients, resolving concerns promptly.
- Oversee patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
- Manage scheduling for medical personnel, including psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and administrative staff.
- Monitor medical compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and behavioral health policies.
- Support billing and insurance coordination, working with revenue cycle management teams to ensure timely reimbursements.
- Collaborate with medical leadership to analyze operational challenges, implement process improvements, and enhance patient care delivery.
- Utilize healthcare management software and EHR systems to maintain accurate patient records and track medical performance metrics.
- Assist in staff training and onboarding, ensuring all team members understand medical protocols and policies.
- Manage inventory and supply orders, ensuring medical resources are properly stocked and utilized.
- Facilitate internal and external communications, ensuring clear updates between medical teams, external providers, and support networks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Strong knowledge of medical operations, behavioral health protocols, and healthcare regulations.
- Experience using EHR systems and healthcare management software.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced medical environment and effectively handle urgent patient needs.
- Knowledge of insurance, billing, and reimbursement processes in a behavioral health setting is a plus.
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities while maintaining a patient-focused approach.

Additional Information
The expected base pay for this role will range between $18 -22 per hour, depending on experience, location, and qualifications. Compensation may also include performance-based bonuses and incentive packages.
