Licensure: Maine, USA (Remote options available)
The Center for Relationships at Psychology Specialists of Maine is seeking passionate and licensed or pre-licensed LMFTs, LCPCs, LCSWs or Psychologists to join our team and enter our couple/family residency program as independent contractors. Position begins September, 2025. As a Couple Therapy Resident, you will receive monthly group didactic training in EFT, bi-monthly group supervision, weekly individual supervision, opportunities to assist in weekend couple retreats, and couple DBT groups and workshops.
Responsibilities
- Conduct 8 to 12 couple therapy sessions weekly, utilizing Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy.
- Opportunity for advanced training to offer 2-day intensive couple therapy
- Maintain thorough and confidential client records with the aid of our EHR and HIPAA compliant in accordance with ethical guidelines and organizational standards.
- Attend ongoing group supervision with our lead couple therapist and certified EFCT supervisor to enhance clinical skills and receive support.
- Participate in monthly didactic training sessions focused on advancing knowledge and expertise in couple therapy.
Requirements:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
- Interest in certification or advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy
- Licensure or pre-licensure as a therapist in Maine (or eligible for licensure).
- Demonstrated experience working with couples from diverse backgrounds and addressing a range of relational issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and comfort with technology.
- Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional development.
Compensation:
- $50 to $100 per therapy session, including billed missed appointments, based on experience and qualifications. Clients are provided with sliding scale options.
