Job Title: Cook II
Reports To: Chef Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Participates in the preparation and cooking of meals for clients of the facility.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Preps food for meals, to include cleaning, chopping and cooking.
• Responsible for the proper storing and labeling of food in accordance with food safety guidelines.
• Serves clients meals.
• Cleans the kitchen and dining room and follows all sanitation and safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Knowledge of culinary terminology.
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
• Able to communicate in English effectively.
• Must be able to maintain a positive and constructive attitude with staff and clients.
Education/Experience:
• 2 years’ experience in a classic restaurant.
Special Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to receive criminal record clearance as required by Title XXII, licensing regulations. This includes FBI and DOJ clearance.
A health screening, by or under the direction of a physician must have been performed not more than six months prior to employment or within seven (7) days after employment. Health screening must include TB clearance not more than six months prior to employment or within seven (7) days after employment. Must be able to administer first aid and CPR with proper training. Must have a valid California Food Handlers Card or be able to get one within 30 days.
Work Environment:
• Regularly required to stand, use hands, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to walk, sit and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop or kneel.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Tuesday, Friday - Saturday AM (6:30am-3pm) and Wednesday - Thursday AM (10:30am-7pm)
