Fleet Manager - ISO Tank Containers

Your Responsibilities

Leading Tank Container Operator, with locations in 24 countries and over 3300 employees strong, is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Fleet Planner in our Houston, TX office. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to participate in the continued growth and expansion of a well-respected organization.

• Monitors equipment levels throughout North America as well as South & Central America
• Monitors Import Volumes and Export Booking volumes closely to identify equipment imbalances
• Reports current or upcoming imbalances to Operations Management and Sales Team. Reviews and updates depot inventory reports for North and South Americas.
• Requests periodic test & obtains periodic test certifications from the leasing companies and upload them to the TCS system.
• Handles necessary equipment positioning between Regions / Depots
• Identifies qualified partners and negotiates repositioning cost with selected vendors
• Selects suitable TC equipment and assigns them (or re-assigns when needed) to Export Orders
• Coordinates information about the equipment status with Export Supervisor and Export Operators
• Reviews SDS for prior product compatibility and provides informed recommendations to the Operations & Sales Teams to support operation or business development for target customers/lanes.
• Constant follow up with Cleaning/Depot facilities to assure timely availability of Tank Containers for load Appointments, minimizing cleaning time and optimizing turnaround time for our fleet.
• Works closely with Maintenance & Repair Manager to closely monitor Vendor performance, tank repair status, periodic testing status, as well as on-hire and off-hire tanks.
• Updates Container Tracking Tool on a constant basis.
• Runs equipment status reports regularly to assure all T&T updates are done timely by whole Operations Team.
• Checks and maintains shipment specific profiles / Equipment Preps / Prior Cargo restrictions
• Approves Vendor Invoices related to their Duties and Responsibilities.
• Participates in Team Meetings to encourage and suggest process improvements
  
  

Your Profile

Job Requirements

• Must have 1 or more years in ISO tank field
• Must have minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain and Logistics
• Must possess excellent organizational skills
• Must possess the ability in problem-solving and experience in managing customer complaints
• Must have the ability multi-task and to deal with dynamic problems and variables.
• Must be able to prioritize workload, work independently, be a team player and work in a fast-paced environment
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have advance excel skills
• Must have strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office Products
• Bilingual ability in Spanish a plus or Portuguese a plus, but not required
