Job Description: Processing of high-quality oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and responsible for performing all standard operation testing per industrial standard of API, ASTM, and STL SOP requirements for product manufacture and testing. Relies on work instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Work responsibilities must be performed in accordance with regulatory and industrial standards, and in a timely manner with the high regard for safety and quality. Serve as the frontline agent of production and machine operation for the company’s lab department. Works under the immediate supervision of the Quality Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all procedures meet API and customer guidelines
- Responsible for milling and grinding machine to process testing specimen to achieve accuracy, controlled specimen, dimension, and roughness
- Responsible for interpreting experimental and inspection results, preparing reports, and drive corrective action as appropriate.
- Prepare test materials according to rigid aseptic techniques and other quality control requirements of laboratory procedures.
- Operates the milling and grinding machine to process testing specimen
- Responsible for the testing scope of internal lab covers: tensile testing, hardness testing, CVN impact testing, flattening, chemical composition analysis, and metallographic analysis.
- Responsible for physical testing, gravities, spectroscopy, IR, optical location, weights, and diluting.
- Assist in maintaining a quality and continual improvement of the production process through all capable metallurgical testing.
- Proactively suggest, develop, and the advice of preventative measures.
- Responsible for examining and performing the flattening, tensile and yield chirpy impact and hardness testing
- Assist Quality manager in maintaining the met-lab and functions
- Responsible for properly marking the specimens with the correspondence information
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Years of Experience: 1 - 3 years of relative machining and testing experience

Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) preferred.
