Job Summary:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is a non-supervisory position that performs a variety of tasks associated with troubleshooting, repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. This position will receive assignments from both the Maintenance Supervisor and the Plant Engineer. Hours of work are to be determined, but some overtime is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Removing, repairing, installing, and adjusting all parts on plant machinery.
- Identifying, assessing, and troubleshooting machine problems.
- Performing preventative maintenance inspections and procedures on equipment.
- Manufacturing simple parts as necessary to repair existing machinery and install new machinery.
- Maintain part’s room in a clean and orderly condition.
- Accountable for entering data into maintenance system timely and accurately.
The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTCA Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing
- Mechanical, welding and cutting skills.
- Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
- Have minor computer skills for CMS and work order system.
- Multi-meter usage and ability to work on 24, 120, 240 and 480v systems.
- Lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, confined spaced training.
- Experience with Automation and controls is a plus.
- Technical degree or certificate in industrial maintenance or 3 plus years’ experience in industrial maintenance.
