PTM Corporation is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to join our team in a purchasing coordinator role.
Seeking an experience team oriented purchasing coordinator with a strong background in metal stamping manufacturing.
The purchasing coordinator serves as a contact regarding
material and supplies and is responsible for performing clerical and purchasing tasks as required.
Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reviews requisitions, verifies specifications and determines proper method of procurement.
- Proactively expedites orders with suppliers until delivery is complete.
- Contacts suppliers to obtain pricing and specifications.
- Reviews quotes and negotiates terms and conditions within scope.
- Prepares and issues purchase orders.
- Compiles accurate records of items purchases, prices, deliveries and inventory.
- Verifies total cost of items purchased, including delivery costs against purchase order, files completed voucher and forwards proper documents to accounting for payment.
- Resolves complaints such as late deliveries, defective materials or unacceptable goods.
- Serves as contact point for vendors.
- Verifies signing authority of all personnel.
- Proactively manages the purchasing of general office supplies.
- Works with accounts payable to ensure payments are current.
Knowledge and Skills and Abilities required:
Detailed orientated to assist with purchasing of parts, services, and supplies in the steel industry.- Analytical, organized, accurate, and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Good communication skills
- Related experience in purchasing, bookkeeping, accounting or finance
- Ability to troubleshot and resolve customer issues.
- Proficient with MS Office Suites (Excel, Word, Access)
