PTR Baler and Compactor (PTR), a division of Komar Industries, is a world leader in the waste equipment industry. The company manufactures and services balers, compactors, and provides parts and resources to customers.
PTR is seeking a Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality Specialist to provide direction and leadership in the EHS and Quality areas.
Responsibilities:
- Review Safety & Health, Environmental, & Quality (SHEQ) Plans for adherence and continual improvement
- Oversee SHEQ activities to ensure conformance to the ISO Certified Quality (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
- Coordinate review and revisions of QMS and EMS processes and procedures.
- Assist with training and communications of QMS and EMS processes and procedures.
- Responsible for thoroughly documenting observations, incidents, and corrective actions
- Perform audits to ensure that quality, environmental, safety and health orientations are taking place.
- Understand and apply industrial safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Support the Safety director on any review of any legally required documents (e.g., SDS)
- Participate with the preparation of the management review.
- Schedule Health and Safety Meetings, document and maintain agendas, minutes, and actions.
- Work closely with other coordinator(s) on Internal/External audit prep and corrective actions using MOC process.
- Investigate and document all environmental incidents including near miss and significant hazards.
- Audit the final product inspection and testing records to release for shipment.
- Track quality and environmental statistics for trends and suggest and/or implement continuous improvements.
- Ensure compliance of manufactured products and purchased materials to DSI and CSA requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive tracking log for all calibrated test equipment, ensuring proper certification and compliance.
- Participate on the daily Gemba Walk
- Report SHEQ performance on the DLA.
- Execute weekly SHEQ Layer process audit.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years with Quality Management System (QMS) Standards
- Minimum of three (3) years with Environmental Management System (EMS) Standards
- OSHA 30 completion
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Process driven.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Experience in the relevant ISO programs
- Experience in investigations and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
