PTR Baler and Compactor is seeking a repair Service Estimator/Dispatcher to join the Service Department team due to growth.
PTR Baler and Compactor is a world leader in the waste equipment industry. PTR helps companies achieve their green initiatives by reducing waste streams and increasing recycling efforts. The company manufactures and services balers, compactors and provides parts and resources to customers.
The repair Service Estimator/Dispatcher’s primary role is to dispatch service orders to technician and provide an estimated repair cost to the customer for approval.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an estimate repair cost to the customer for approval. The estimate should include all parts, labor, travel costs, rental fees and other costs associated with the job.
- Logistically schedule and route technicians with maximum efficiency.
- Update centralized system with accurate and complete status codes, ETA, call information, and memos.
- Schedule approved jobs for completion, including all parts required, rental equipment needed, and available technician or sub-contractor.
- Ensure that jobs are completed within the scope of their estimates.
- Gather information from the field on what repairs are required, including parts and labor.
- Upload written estimates for customer review to centralized customer portal.
- Follow-up on written estimates for approval from the customer.
- Provide completed job information with all required documentation to billing department when calls are closed.
- Review and report on comparison of actual versus estimated costs as well as actual versus estimated profit.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 2 years’ related experience and/or training in estimating, dispatching or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication skills both orally and in written (email) format.
- Highly organized and able to multi-task is required.
- Advanced customer service skills which leave the customer satisfied.
- Self-motivated, pro-active, can-do attitude and customer driven focus.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and data reporting.
- Knowledge of PTR’s industry is preferred, or industries with similar positions (auto repair).
- Project management skills and experience is essential.
- Understanding of gross profit calculations and strong aptitude in math.
- Excellent relationship builder.
