The OSP Construction Inspector is responsible for managing all aspects of outside plant construction projects, including design, permitting, material acquisition, construction, and tie-in. This role ensures projects stay on track by monitoring progress, addressing issues, and making recommendations to meet cost, quality, and scheduling goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Oversee the installation of Fiber to the Premise (FTTP) circuits, working closely with internal teams to meet customer deadlines.
- Planning & Budgeting: Develop project plans, estimate costs, and schedule construction timelines.
- Permitting & Approvals:
- Identify pole ownership, right-of-way, and permit requirements.
- Communicate with city, county, and state agencies to secure necessary approvals.
- Work with private property owners, railroad companies, and building owners to obtain easements and entrance approvals.
- Construction Oversight:
- Monitor contractor progress and ensure work meets quality standards and deadlines.
Inspect contractor work and escalate issues when necessary.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Read and interpret construction documents, including blueprints, plans, and fiber optic splicing diagrams.
- Identify potential conflicts in preliminary construction prints and attend coordination meetings as needed.
- Summarize solutions and provide logical recommendations to management.

Pay Range : $30/Hr -$40/Hr
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
