Job Title : PTR Warehouse – Assistant Supervisor

SUMMARY :
A working position which will work with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure the processing of shipments and loading of orders. Reviewing packing lists and ensuring the correct items are shipped out to customers.

AUTHORITY : This individual has authority over no other employee but may ask others within their department to help them with tasks. Please see PTR’s organizational chart for more detailed information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Will include the following but is not limited to :
Ø Will act as a direct assistant to the Warehouse Supervisor and will serve as the direct back up to the supervisor when the supervisor is not present.
Ø Compares identifying information and quantities on the packing slip against the purchase order, counts items for verification, and indicates any discrepancies.
Ø Entry of material receipt into the system, along with other general data entry items (i.e. production).
Ø Gather, prepare and audit materials for small parcel shipment; UPS / FedEx Ground, DHL, etc.
Ø Responsible for sending advanced shipment notices to our customers based on their specific requirements.
Ø Generating labels as required
Ø Scheduling trucks
Ø Generate the end of day report with copies of shipping documents
Ø General dock audits
Ø Drive the box truck when necessary
Ø Scheduling maintenance and preventative maintenance on the box truck
Ø Must be able to operate fork truck.
Ø Arriving at work on time for every scheduled shift.
Ø Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Ø Valid Driver’s License
Ø Minimum 1-year experience in shipping and receiving or equivalent experience.
Ø Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ø Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Ø Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE : The employee will be expected to meet efficiency ratings of 80% or better after completion of 90 calendar days and have 0% defective parts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The associate frequently is required to sit, walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to support production needs.
The associate must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move more than 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision (with or without corrective lenses), and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Production paced operations to support customer (internal and external) demands. Decision making ability to support production as needed.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Must be 18 years of age or older.
