Construction Manager
Full-time/ Direct Hire

Reports to: Site Project Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to provide on-site oversight, coordination, management and technical expertise for all aspects of the project construction and interfaces on a daily basis with discipline supervisors and the site safety advisor to ensure project specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with discipline supervisors and project manager to assure crews and subcontractors are working efficiently to meet contracting requirements, budgets, forecasts and schedules
- Integrates safety into project plans, reinforces safety policies, supports safety trainings and corrects unsafe conditions
- Supervises total construction effort to ensure productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment and contractual performance goals are being met
- Review subcontractor work packages
- Assists discipline supervisors with project scope development, questions and problem resolutions
- Systematically and regularly appraises and evaluates progress against goals, timelines and objectives
- Conducts daily site coordination meetings with all subcontractors
- Ensures project environmental, regulatory and safety requirements are adhered to during construction activities
- Assists start-up team during the start-up, commissioning and testing of the facility
Qualifications:
- 20 years of substation or related facility construction experience with a track record of achievement on large complex projects
- Strong technical background in the installation and operation of high voltage electrical facilities and associated subsystems
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, schedule and safety
