What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at PTS Advance?
PTS Advance is looking for a Lab Technician II. This is a contract assignment in Richmond, CA.
Product lines supported include automotive passenger car and heavy duty engine oils, industrial oils, gear oils, greases, and transmission fluids. Training will be provided for specific functions associated with the position. Work involves handling finished lubricants, base oils, additives, and solvents.
Our Client is looking for candidates specifically with prior lab technician experience where they worked in the same position for at least a year.

Pay rate: $28-30 hr. DOE.
10 days PTO (accrued)
1 position available
• Long-term assignment, potential for extension but not guaranteed
• Work schedule: 5/40 (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, occasional overtime/weekend work required)
• Work involves handling finished lubricants, base oils, and solvents (PPE provided/required)
Required Qualifications:
• 1 years experience working in a laboratory or similar technical environment.
• Detail oriented, have the ability to follow processes and procedures implicitly, possess laboratory skills such as precision weighing and measuring, have glassware handling experience, and demonstrate operational discipline in the conduct of their work.
• Computer (PC) skills; experience creating spreadsheets and reports on a personal computer. Knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of scientific testing methods
• Ability to perform detail oriented, mistake-free work.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent safe work history / strong safe work ethic.
• Demonstrated experience in equipment maintenance, lab management, quality control, and product integrity processes and programs (i.e. ISO, ASTM, Round Robins). Demonstrated capability to work effectively as a team member to resolve issues and complete projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
• AS / BS degree, formal training in chemistry, biology, or other science.
• Experience working in a laboratory or similar technical environment.
• Experience monitoring and adjusting process control systems.
• Previous lab refinery experience/safety sensitive position
