About The Role
We are looking for a seasoned Finance Manager for our Charleston based delivery studio (with substantial experience in small-midsized companies preferred) with a full skill set of monthly closing process. The scope of the Finance Manager role involves bookkeeping, monthly closing, preparation of financial statements, financial and management reporting & analysis and collaboration with finance team members in different locations. While making sure monthly closing and reporting, the Finance Manager acts as a business partner for the Studio Head.

About The Role

While making sure monthly closing and reporting, the Finance Manager acts as a business partner for the Studio Head.
Responsibilities
- Monthly Closing Process:
- Perform and oversee the full set of monthly closing activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines: external and internal customer billing, supplier payments, bank reconciliation etc
- Reconcile bank balance, B/S accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany transactions
- Record and adjust journal entries to ensure proper recording of financial transactions.
- Analyze variances and resolve discrepancies during the closing cycle.
- Ensure timely monthly reporting to our Japanese parent company
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Manage and update the general ledger in Microsoft Dynamics 365 to reflect accurate financial data.
- Maintain supporting documentation for all financial entries.
- Fixed Asset Management:
- Update depreciation schedules and post depreciation journal entries.
- Account for any purchases, disposals, or impairments of fixed assets
- Preparation of Financial Statements:
- Compile and prepare comprehensive financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., USGAAP).
- Ensure financial statements provide a true and fair view of the organization's financial position.
- Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Ensure all relevant regulatory filings are made on time
- Provide documentation and assistance for internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in the monthly closing process and recommend improvements.
- Develop and implement best practices for accurate and efficient financial reporting.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with Studio head, operation teams and other finance team members in different locations to ensure proper allocation of expenses and alignment of financial reports.
- Partner with Studio head to provide insights and explanations for financial results.
- Work with FP&A team in London to prepare monthly forecast and quarterly & annual budget.
- Work with SIDE group’s Consolidation team in London for preparation of group consolidation on a monthly basis.
- Upload monthly financial data on a consolidation platform used by SIDE Group’s ultimate holding on a monthly, timely basis.
- Closely work with Group Treasury team on a weekly basis and prepare weekly and monthly cash forecast.
- Payroll Accuracy and Verification:
- Conduct detailed reviews of payroll data to ensure accuracy in employee compensation, deductions, and tax calculations.
- Verify compliance with organizational policies and local, state, and federal payroll regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Qualified Accountant (US CPA or equivalent)/actively pursuing qualification
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards such as GAAP or IFRS.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate or above of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Excel in particular.
