Summary
Haverford Systems, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based provider of audiovisual solutions for live streaming and videoconferencing, seeks an experienced Copywriter to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for creating crisp, clear and engaging copy for our portfolio of global and regional brands, including PTZOptics, HuddleCamHD, and Haverford Systems Integration.
Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working with stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop brand-level messaging and marketing copy for a variety of channels in an in-house or agency setting. This role will focus on quickly identifying and clearly communicating key points in an often-technical field to a range of audiences, from B2C to B2B to B2B2C. Sharp editing skills are a must, as is experience working within a larger creative team.
This is an in-office position, with the option to work remotely one day per week. Our headquarters are located in Downingtown, PA, just outside of Philadelphia.
Responsibilities
This Copywriter role is responsible for developing and editing a wide range of succinct and compelling copy, including brand messaging, value propositions, print and digital ads, collateral, and web pages. The individual in this role will be highly skilled at writing clearly and persuasively, with a knack for headlines and hooks. The Copywriter role sits within the Marketing team, and will frequently require brainstorming and collaboration across multiple teams, including Sales and Product Engineering.
In supporting our brand portfolio, 80% of this role’s time will be spent working on copy and messaging for PTZOptics; 15% for HuddleCamHD; and 5% for Haverford Systems Integration.
- Conceptualize and write strategic, audience-first copy across digital and traditional marketing mediums and channels
- Interpret often-complex ideas and technical details to drive the creation of original concepts that result in clear and compelling value propositions
- Tailor copy to each channel, laddering up to a big idea but working within channel best practices including character limits, audience, and platform limitations
- Actively participate in project kickoffs, asking insightful questions to gain detail, clarification, and alignment with stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Work collaboratively with other writers, designers, producers, and project managers, as well as engineers and sales representatives
- Stay current with industry trends, following Pro AV and Broadcast industry trade publications, and regularly consulting with in-house experts
- Meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Receive and give constructive feedback on creative projects
- Lend expertise to edit and assist teammates with writing projects as needed
Qualifications and Background
Required:
- Keen ability to identify, interpret and succinctly articulate core ideas, and effectively position them for a variety of audiences
- Understanding of brand strategy and priorities of communication
- Proven success in copywriting, working with both short- and long-form pieces; proven ability to write headlines and hooks is a must-have
- 3 years of experience in a copywriting role at an agency or within an internal creative team
- Excellent writing and sharp editing skills, with exceptional attention to detail
- Openness to direction and capability to apply feedback to creative work
- Flexibility to write quickly and efficiently on shifting deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, including tact, active listening, and consulting abilities
- Portfolio demonstrating copywriting skills across a range of formats
- Experience developing and evolving brand materials and promoting brand consistency through writing style, tone, and voice
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM and online marketing strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Creative Writing, English or a related field and/or equivalent experience
- Experience collaborating within a larger creative team, particularly with designers
- Experience and/or interest in skillsharing and mentoring teammates
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual starting salary ranging from $62,000 - $88,000, commensurate with experience
