Bartenders/Servers
Pub 219 in downtown Freeport, IL is seeking dynamic, outgoing, creative, and reliable people to join our family. We are a small pub with exceptionally large expectations!
The Bartender/Server is responsible for assisting with overall bar duties, ensuring that customers receive the best service possible, upholding a constant level of service excellence, and maintaining health and safety standards within the bar.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Bartend/Serve - Responsible for knowing and creating customer drink orders. Efficiently manage and serve food orders. Balance great service with the ability to mange the bar and dining area. Maintain a clean bar.
- Opening/Closing bar - Ability to open and close bar shifts as scheduled.
- Inventory/stock - The Bartender-Sever is responsible for constantly monitoring bar inventory and replenishing it as needed.
- Create an environment that promotes the highest level of customer service - Resolve any customer concerns as quickly as possible.
- Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons.
- Participate in planning and taking part in promotional events.
- Ability to diffuse tense situations to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed. Communicate any and all feedback to ownership.
- Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for patrons.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/equivalent.
- Must be minimum 21 years of age.
- Bartender, restaurant experience preferred.
- IL BASSET and food handler managers license or the ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Decisiveness.
- Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $8.20 - $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
