- Successfully develops and builds management consulting opportunities.
- Focuses on creating new business in the state and local government market.
- Responsible for developing partner relationships, identifying opportunities, fostering strong client relationships, and developing proposals that meet client needs.
- Recruits, hires, manages and develops resources to support the business unit and the practice area.
- Responsibilities include ensuring executed project are within pre-determined revenue/expenses, etc. specifics.
- Integrates capabilities in client management and sales acumen to grow existing projects, establish new projects and build new markets that create business and financial value
- Hires, develops, motivates and retains staff to build and sustain a team skillset of talent that includes diverse capabilities and perspectives
- Builds support for opportunities, proposals, projects and organizational initiatives. Positive contributor to help grow the practice area.
- Takes ownership for strategic, financial and operational risk in all aspects of responsibilities.
- Integrates their capabilities in quality management, project management and client satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Subject Matter expertise in public sector programs related to Health and Human Services, Education, Corrections, Public Safety, Pension, etc. systems.
- Must be tactical in delivering project tasks under tight deadlines, with the ability to keep the big picture in mind at same time from a strategic perspective.
- Proven ability to hire, develop and manage a team of people.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a cross-functional capacity.
- Objective decision-making ability based on strategic objectives priority, business performance analysis and resource availability.
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel from technical to high level executive management, and influence key stakeholders in order to get things done.
- Strong leadership, assertiveness and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, assertive, enthusiastic and has the political savvy to get things done, yet maintain a likeable presence. Ability to deal with adversity and differing opinions.
- Demonstrated experience managing management consulting IT projects with minimum
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University
- 12 years’ experience developing, bidding, and winning public sector management; consulting services with progressively increasing level of leadership responsibility.
- 10 years’ experience providing one or more of the following services; planning, procurement, project management, quality assurance (QA), Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) or project oversight services for State government.
- 5 years successful experience of strong business development in an IT consulting firm. Hands on experience managing project risk, cost, schedule, quality, requirements gathering and validation, testing, and communications.
