Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Response Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction and substance abuse issues. This role involves conducting investigations, client visits within the community, community outreach including one on one client outreach in the community in which they live, and connecting clients and community members to services to promote recovery and wellness. The Substance Abuse Response Specialist will work closely with clients, families, community members, and other professionals including the office's community client coordinator, recovery coach, parent resource navigator, and attorneys to assist in the holistic representation of clients within the community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct case investigation to determine levels of substance abuse need and family support.
- Assist lawyers in the gathering of evidence and case-related information and provide testimony when necessary.
- Assist in finding and interviewing witnesses including mitigation witnesses.
- Collect, analyze, and preserve evidence.
- Write detailed reports, file and maintain all records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Undergo continuous training as needed.
Requirements
- A West Virginia Private Investigator License is required.
- Familiarity with substance abuse recovery resources is a plus.
- Strong skills in crisis management and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about advancements in the field.
- Willingness to work closely with the Community Client Coordinator to develop a comprehensive community outreach program.
- Use of a personal vehicle is required with mileage reimbursement.
- Reliable transportation is required.
