JOB OVERVIEW:
The Teacher's Assistant/Case Manager supports the Workforce Development department and its various programs with a focus on the Medical Billing and Coding component. This person will split time between providing assistance to the teacher in the classroom several days a week and working individually with participants providing case management services. The Teacher's Assistant/Case Manager will support the Medical Billing and Coding Instructor with classroom management and student assistance, general administrative support, client data entry, and reporting functions. For the case management component, this individual maintains weekly contact with participants through meetings (in-person or virtual) or phone calls. This person will be responsible for assisting with the engagement process for new participants, making appropriate referrals for supportive services, and documenting participant progress. The Teacher’s Assistant/Case Manager will help students with completing job and credentialing applications for employment along with other job readiness tasks on a case-by-case basis and follow up with them to monitor their experience once they are employed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry a caseload of 10-15 participants providing case management for them.
- Provide referrals for social services to support the social determinant of health needs for the participants.
- Research and coordinate resources to support participants.
- Support participants in job readiness.
- Facilitate employment and credentialing applications on behalf of participants.
- Support the effective management of a conducive educational environment, including engaging in positive, appropriate, and highly respectful interactions with students and staff.
- Support the day-to-day classroom activities including the structured lessons.
- Provide tailored, appropriate instruction to students based on their learning styles and needs.
- Facilitate the purchase of incentives for participants enrolled in programs.
- Assist with enrollment/registration process and administer TABE assessments,
- Coordinate the scheduling of team meetings including reserving internal and external meeting space, facilitating calendar invitations, and securing any materials required for meetings.
- Participate in regular meetings regarding the status of projects; facilitate meetings when necessary.
- Conduct data entry.
- Support data analysis and reporting activities.
- Maintain resource and contact lists for partners, and other stakeholders.
- Engage in professional development endeavors.
- Perform general administrative support functions on behalf of the Workforce Development team.
- Perform any other program duties or special projects as directed by supervisor.
